Autocat+ v5 enhancements
A number of developments have been completed over recent months within the Autocat+ program.
All of the developments have been designed to increase functionality and in turn make the product more user friendly. Each one is covered in detail within this document.
Screen resolution
Autocat+ now runs at a screen resolution of 1152 x 864 pixels. It is still possible to run at 800 x 600 and 1024 x 768.
If you are able to run at 1024 x768 pixels and above you will be able to take advantage of a number of benefits:
- Additional product groups / sub groups will display by default meaning there is no need to use the scroll bars.
- Additional lines can be displayed in the main Autopart grid.
- The main parts grid includes additional columns, all of which can be used to filter the information. These columns are:
- Fuel Type (FT)
- Body Type (Body)
- Exact CC (CC)
- Cylinders (Cyl)
- Camshaft (Cam)
- Valves (Valve)
- Transmission (Drive)
- Braking applications will now show Solid / Vented and system type in the main grid to allow easier filtration (when running screen resolution above 800 x 600)
User catalogue functionality
Select the vehicle application, product / sub group, then enter the start / end years and model details. Click on the Update / 2 icon to save the part application then click on List / 4 icon to view all current applications you have stored. These parts will appear in Green in the main parts grid.

Data highlight
VRM data matching to suppliers data has been further enhanced in version 5.0 by using the following fields where applicable.
- Engine / VIN Code
- Body Style
- Valve Information
- Exact CC
- BHP
The best matched data will appear at the top of the parts list in Blue. Any part line when selected will also highlight the VRM details it has matched on. From the screen shot below you can see the top line has matched on the following details,
- BHP
- Engine code
- Body style
- Exact cc
- Valve
Any data line that matches on BHP will appear in Bold as a quick indicator.
Please note you must be running a screen resolution of at least 1024 X 768 to see the extra fields and the matching of fields.
Data manipulation
Data drilldown has been further enhanced by allowing you to see all supplier’s extra information for all part lines in the grid. Right click on the suppliers extra information to reveal a menu. Click on Show Distinct to reveal a list of extra information to select from.
Select the items you wish to highlight from the list and select the Go icon. The parts that match your search criteria will appear in Yellow.
VIN decode
The VIN decode feature can be found by clicking on the Info icon on the VIN information field from the VRM details on the left hand side of the screen. The following manufacturers can currently be decoded:
- Ford
- Volkswagen
- Vauxhall
Other manufacturers will follow. To remove the de-code information click anywhere on the information window.
User Groups
User Groups now allows you to drilldown to product group level. Select an item from the ‘All Sub Groups’ list to reveal the associated product groups. The product groups can then be manipulated to suit user requirements. Select the items you wish to highlight from the list, then select the Go icon. The parts that match your search criteria will appear in Yellow.
Vehicle statistics report
Various reports can be run to give you statistics by vehicle and vehicle / sub group. Select Statistics Report from the General / 6 icon, select the report type and Display to view the report.
New vehicle selection process
The manual vehicle lookup process has been made easier to select the vehicle details from. You can bypass certain fields by double-clicking on the lists. The Year text box allows you to enter the year for quicker selection when using the keyboard.
Supplier website
Select Parameter Maintenance from General / 6, then select Supplier Website / 6 and the following screen will appear.
Select the supplier from the supplier drop down list, enter the URL for the suppliers website and click on Insert. When a supplier is selected that has a website attached, a new button (Supplier) will appear in the main catalogue screen, click on the button to open the suppliers website.
The system will allow you to enter multiple websites against the same supplier. When multiple websites are available a window will appear allowing you to select the website you want to view.
