New Autocat+ backup server at TankersleyMAM Software has announced the release of Autocat+ version 5 release 2.2, a free upgrade for its electronic parts catalogue. As well as bringing new functionality, this latest revision of the software is designed to minimise data disruptions by utilising a new backup server infrastructure.

Autocat+ is the industry-leading all-makes parts catalogue. Updated almost daily, its data is served live via the internet to minimise data latency. To add resilience and maximise uptime, this new release of Autocat+ will seamlessly switch to new backup servers at MAM's Tankersley head office in the event of a communications failure with the primary data servers.

Other new features in release r2.2 include:

  • Automatic check for updates
  • E-mail pictures
  • Print cross-reference results
  • VRM mismatch highlighting
  • Highlighting of open-ended supplier dates
  • CO2/Euro star rating and mark/series
  • Cross-reference update report
  • Improved filtering
  • Improved VIN decoding

"Autocat+ is a key product in our portfolio, and we will continue to invest in improvements and new capabilities to better serve our customers" said Mike Jamieson, MAM Software's Managing Director. "By introducing a new secondary server infrastructure at Tankersley, we've given Autocat+ the capability to circumvent third-party telecoms issues and provide our customers with improved availability."

MAM also announced that it is currently working on Autocat+ v6, due for release at the end of the year. "Version 6 will contain a host of exciting new features" Mike Jamieson enthused. "This will include a new 'historical lookup' feature to help the user identify what was sold the last time a particular registration number was enquired upon."

The latest release of Autocat+ (v5.0 r2.2) is available free to existing subscribers. Users wishing to check and update their current version can follow the instructions on MAM's website at www.mamsoft.co.uk/acplusrev22
