MAM Software has announced the release of Autocat+ v7, the next significant upgrade of its market leading all-makes parts catalogue. Version 7 introduces the MAM Software Makes & Models Index and sees several improvements to the main user interface, allowing for greater ease of use.

The MAM Software Makes & Models Index (MMI) is an extensive, proprietary database that improves the accuracy of part lookups. This powerful tool enables component suppliers to reference their catalogue data against the most comprehensive and precise database of UK-specific vehicles available. By matching product data to the MMI's 'Unique Identifier' ID number, Autocat+ v7 ensures that users receive greater accuracy with their vehicle lookups, resulting in fewer returns.

An enhanced user interface highlights all data that is compliant with the MMI database, allowing users to instantly see the most accurate part match. Also included in the updated user interface is a new shopping basket feature, which allows users to add products and optionally override selling prices from within Autocat+. Once an order has been built, the shopping basket can then be transferred directly to Autopart's point of sale.

Craig Byrom of Ray's Garage Supplies, who participated in the Autocat+ Version 7 beta testing programme, is absolutely delighted with the new developments.

"We've been enthusiastic Autocat+ users for many years and this latest release, with its new MMI Unique Identifier matching, is a highly significant development that offers tremendous advances in operation and data accuracy."

"Thanks to Autocat+ v7, we've just had our best ever month for returns. Even during the testing process, the new MMI matching lowered our returns rate by over two percentage points."

"This new release is also much more user friendly. The revised layout and new shortcut keys simplify the selection of parts and the new shopping basket streamlines the sales process."

"Overall, Autocat+ v7 has enabled our business to take a major step forward. Suppliers not providing v7 compliant data will get left behind."

"Autocat+ is a key product in our portfolio, and we will continue to invest in updates and new capabilities to better serve our customers" said Mike Jamieson, MAM Software's Managing Director.

"The introduction of MMI marks a significant improvement in the quality, speed and precision of vehicle lookups within the application, ensuring that Autocat+ is the most comprehensive all-makes parts catalogue in the UK."
