MAM Software has extended the cross-referencing functionality of its Autocat+ all-makes electronic parts catalogue. As a result of recent discussions with aftermarket suppliers, MAM has received a marked increase in the cross-reference data being provided for Autocat+. Almost half of contributors are now providing cross-reference data, with the remainder instigating plans to provide data in the near future.
Cross-referencing can help motor factors and parts retailers identify aftermarket components by entering an OEM or comparative part number. Used in conjunction with a make/model reference, it can help pinpoint replacements and improve the chances of correct part fitment.
"Cross-referencing is a valuable tool that helps our customers increase the accuracy of parts identification and therefore reduce returns" explains Mike Jamieson, MAM Software's Managing Director. "We're working with all of our data providers to incorporate cross-reference information wherever possible. Almost half have already contributed and new data is being added daily."
Cross-referencing is available free when taking a subscription to MAM's Autocat+ all-makes electronic parts catalogue. Autocat+ provides detailed product information on over 15 million part references, covering 953 catalogue sections from 179 suppliers. To complement cross-referencing, Autocat+ also features a range of lookup features such as VRM lookup, VIN decoding and engine matching.
