MAM Software has announced the general release of its Autowork Online web application – an internet-based management solution for garages and workshops. As well as providing comprehensive workshop management facilities, garages can use the application to confirm prices, check availability and order parts from their supplying factor.

Autowork Online offers extensive functionality for managing all core garage activities including creating job cards and invoices, controlling work diaries and maintaining accurate service records. Furthermore, it provides a range of web-driven features including vehicle registration mark (VRM) lookup, all-makes parts cataloguing, repair times, technical data and online parts ordering.

Deployed as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Autowork Online is accessed online via a web browser – so there's no software to install, manage, or update at the garage.

"The SaaS model offers many distinct advantages over traditional software deployment" explained Mike Jamieson, Managing Director of MAM Software. "By eliminating the need to install and run the application on the garage's own computer, SaaS alleviates the burden of software maintenance and data backup. There will be no disks to install or databases for the factor to update. VRM, catalogue, repair and technical information will all be accessed on-demand via web-services. Hosted on secure servers, Autowork Online data remains private and is backed-up on a daily basis."
