MAM renews approved supplier relationship with GAU

MAM Software to continue role as approved supplier of I.T. solutions to Group Auto Union (GAU) and its members

Mike Jamieson (left) and Jim MazzaMAM Software is pleased to announce that it is to maintain its long-standing relationship with Group Auto Union (GAU) as its approved supplier of I.T. solutions. The GAU is the UK's prominent motor factor trading group, with 320 member companies and 523 points of sale across the UK and Ireland. As a result of the appointment, MAM will continue providing infrastructure and support for the GAU's internal initiatives and will remain a recommended supplier of software and catalogue data to its membership.

Under the agreement, MAM's Autopart software will continue as the recommended choice of business management software for GAU members. Autopart is a comprehensive management tool that helps motor factors and retailers to improve efficiency and productivity. Together with MAM's Autocat+ parts catalogue, it can assist in all areas of business from point-of-sale through to stock management and back office accounting. Autopart is currently deployed by 64% of the membership and MAM cataloguing solutions by 67%.

MAM will also maintain its support of the GAU central billing system that was first introduced in 2002. Operating on MAM's Autopart management software, this unique billing system helps the GAU improve internal efficiencies by processing over 54,000 invoices a month. Over 30 per cent of these are now received electronically, saving the rekeying of over 16,000 documents a month.

In addition, MAM will continue the development of the G-Net initiative. G-Net is an e-commerce solution that links GAU members, approved suppliers, and the GAU central bureau together so that goods can be traded electronically. Currently, 38 GAU approved suppliers are G-Net enabled and actively trading with members, representing in excess of 70% of the GAU volume.

MAM will also retain a key role in supporting the GAU AutoCare programme with its Autowork workshop management software. AutoCare is the UK division of EuroGarage, a network of more than 5000 independent garages providing quality service and repair using top quality components. The Autowork software, which is included as a standard element of the AutoCare package, provides workshops with a wide range of essential features including job card creation, invoice printing, diary management and customer service records.

"We are delighted to continue our association with the GAU. As an official supplier of I.T. solutions, we believe we can make a real difference to motor factors across the UK. MAM's industry-leading products provide GAU members with an arsenal of tools that further strengthen their competitiveness and productivity" said Mike Jamieson, MAM Software's Managing Director.

"The services provided by MAM will ensure that the GAU is equipped with tailored applications and a world class I.T. infrastructure that delivers value to its members and facilitates the development of long term supply chain partnerships" said Jim Mazza, GAU Managing Director. "MAM's managed services help us achieve significant internal efficiencies, whilst software and high quality support provides our members with excellent management solutions".
