MAM Software Ltd. today announced that G.P. Automotive, one of the nation’s major component distribution businesses, has implemented its Autopart and Autonet applications as the basis of a new management and communication infrastructure.
The solution, which recently went live, is being used by G.P. Automotive to provide a technology platform for managing sales processes, controlling stock, and providing fully-featured electronic ordering functionality for its customers.
MAM has worked closely with G.P. Automotive to ensure the software meets the specific needs of its business. Many of Autopart's dedicated warehouse features are being employed, including location tracking, quarantined stock, logistics partner management and the new express shipping interface.
Alongside Autopart, G.P. Automotive has implemented MAM's Autonet electronic trading module. This allows it to communicate with all aftermarket trading protocols and take full advantage of the PACT initiative recently announced by TecCom and ABS eparts. Customers using compatible software (including Autopart) will gain the ability to electronically:
- Check stock availability and pricing
- Order stock
- Receive acknowledgements and delivery notes
- Receive invoices and credits
In addition, G.P. Automotive will use MAM’s Autonet Online solution to introduce web-based ordering for customers who cannot integrate e-business functionality within their own software. This will provide the facility to check prices and availability via an interactive web-based catalogue. Once selected, customers can place orders, print invoices and track parcel shipments.
"MAM's willingness to work with us and understand our business has been extremely rewarding" said Graham Trevitt G.P. Automotive's Managing Director. "We've formed a strong relationship that offers not just a single point-in-time solution to meet a particular need, but a partnership that creates real business solutions to our ongoing business requirements."
"Our mission is to create an industry-leading logistics infrastructure capable of moving parts along the supply chain quickly and efficiently" continued Trevitt. "The installation of this new technology gives us the ability to not only improve our own internal efficiency, but also enhance our customer service. With electronic ordering and online enquiries, we can extend our service beyond our physical opening hours".
"We are delighted that G.P. Automotive has chosen MAM Software" said Mike Jamieson, MAM’s Managing Director. "We strive to maintain a flexible approach that involves partnering - rather than just supplying - our clients. The fact that we've been able to provide a solution that meets the specific needs of their business is great testament to the scope and versatility of our software. We are looking forward to a long relationship with G. P. Automotive and hope to make a positive contribution to their success."
