MAM Software Ltd. is pleased to announce that, following the completion of successful field trials, the FPS edition of its Autonet online ordering solution is being launched this week.

First introduced last year, Autonet is a suite of applications and solutions that enables online connectivity between the back-end systems of trading partners of the automotive aftermarket. It was later enhanced by the addition of specific functionality for checking prices and ordering stock from FPS, the warehouse distributor. A number of pilot sites selected at the beginning of 2006 have now successfully completed testing and the FPS edition is to be released for general use.

"Initial trials have gone extremely well" explains Nigel Clemett, MAM’s head of e-business. "Reports back from the pilot sites indicate that Autonet has considerably simplified their purchasing processes. By providing direct access to live FPS data, Autonet removes the need to phone the warehouse distributor to check price and availability. As a result, users have reported a significant reduction in the time taken to process transactions. And the elimination of re-keying has helped to reduce errors too".

Autonet ordering software is fully integrated within MAM’s Autopart software and is accessible from the point-of-sale screen. Using broadband Internet technologies, Autonet will connect to the appropriate local FPS branch to check stock availability and price, and allow users to place orders. These orders are instantly printed at the local branch. In instances where stock isn’t immediately available, the Autonet system will suggest alternatives, or users can have the advanced option of checking stock availability at the FPS Sheffield branch for next day delivery.

Neil Davis, Managing Director of FPS commented , "We are keen to offer our customers the ability to trade electronically with us. Autonet gives them instant access to stock availability and pricing information and the ability to order on line. As a major supplier of systems to our customer base we are very excited by the development of MAM’s solution".
